Kickapoo tribal members want recall

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2002 Members of the Kickapoo Tribe of Texas filed suit in state court to force a recall election of their chairman Raul Garza, also known as Makateonenodua. More than 140 tribal members want the court to set a date for the recall. They allege tribal officials unfairly denied a petition for the election. Garza is under attack for his financial eminence.
