Navajo Nation President Kelsey Begaye officially kicked off his re-election bid on Monday.

Begaye is running on stability he says his administration has brought to the largest tribe in the country. He cites alcoholism and child sexual abuse as the biggest problems facing Navajo people.

Begaye's challenger is Joe Shirley, who received twice as many votes in the presidential primary. Shirley is focusing on government reform.
