Editorial: Playing games with casinos

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2002 In an editorial, The New London Day chastises Connecticut Gov. John Rowland for his current anti-gaming stance. Rowland has been quiet about the future of Indian casinos but last week said he opposed additional ones. "They [Rowlands and most of CT Congressional Delegation] also have realized that Indian claims could eat up large amounts of property and that the voters of Connecticut are worried," the paper writes. The editorial goes on to mention Rowlands's support of a challenge to the federal recognition of the historic Eastern Pequot Tribe. Get the Story:
