Giant bird spotted by Alaska villagers

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2002 A giant bird with a large wing-span has been spotted by residents of southwest Alaska villages. Reports have come in from Togiak and Manokotak. The bird is described as two to three times the size of a bald eagle. Some believe the animal could be a Steller's sea eagle, a very large bird native to Russia. The sea eagle has been known to fly to Alaska. Get the Story:
