"Consider this an anatomy of a closet sports fan. I am not a fan of most national sports, such as football, baseball or basketball. I would drive hours to see relatives, granddaughter or grandsons take part in a sport, but to lounge in front of the television to watch the Dallas Cowboys, for example, I wouldn't do - at least, that's what most people who know me think.

So here is my confession. I like, and watched, some of the Minnesota Twins games. Maybe its because I see them as the underdog - relatively poor, lower on the scale of baseball teams, the team that may be sold to another city - but it's also because right now, they are our hometown team.

This is a new interest for me because in recent years, I equated sports with a “former life.” When my ex-husband watched hours and hours of Sunday football, basketball and so on, I watched, too. I was enticed into the games and, eventually, came to know many of the teams and players. It was fun. . ."
