Report: Washoe chairman re-elected

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2002 Brian Wallace appears to have won re-election as chairman of the Washoe Band of California and Nevada. The Tahoe Daily Tribune said the results were not official yet but a tribal member said he was elected by a wide margin. Wallace has run the tribe for 12 years and has drawn opposition for his leadership and alleged financial improprieties. Get the Story:
