Author and failed congressional candidate Jeff Benedict will head a new anti-casino group in Connecticut.

The Connecticut Alliance Against Casino Expansion is opposed to all new gaming. They say two existing tribal casinos contribute to crime, traffic and other woes.

Benedict has specifically attacked the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and its casino. He wants to terminate the tribe's federal status, which he alleges was wrongly conferred by an act of Congress.

Benedict made his claims in a controversial book called "Without Reservation." It was a springboard for his failed attempt to gain the Democratic nomination for Connecticut's 2nd Congressional District.
