Minn. candidate won't accept Indian funds

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2002 Roger Moe is considered one of the strongest supporters of Indian gaming in Minnesota. But the gubernatorial candidate won't accept campaign funds from tribal or gaming sources, he says. As majority leader in the state Senate, Moe has fended off attempts to authorize gaming beyond the state's reservations. His efforts earned him adoption by the Red Lake Band of Ojibwe. His Indian name means "Golden Eagle." Moe's party is the Democratic Farmer Labor Party. Get the Story:
