Bush: Budget deficit at $159B

The Bush administration confirmed a $159 billion deficit, the first since 1997.

The figure is in line with prior estimates by the White House Office of Management and Budget and the Congressional Budget Office.

The deficit is in contrast to surplus during the Clinton years. Last year's surplus was $127 billion.
