Opponents of a Washington tribe's whale hunt were back in court on Monday.

Animal-rights activists claim the Makah Nation's hunt violates environmental law. They sued the National Marine Fisheries Service.

In August, a federal judge dismissed the suit. The activists appealed to the Ninth Circuit.
