Gov. Martz criticized at tribal meeting

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2002 Tribal leaders criticized Montana Governor Judy Martz (R) for not consulting them earlier about proposed state budget cuts. Martz, who began her term with a tour to all the state's reservations, responded that she only announced potential cuts on October 25. She also said her door has always been open to tribes. Tribal leaders complained they weren't involved sooner and said they need more time to discuss the budget issues. Get the Story:
