MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2002 The Adopt-a-Native-Elder program was started to help a few Navajo elders sell their rugs but has since grown to include a large arts show that helps keep tradition alive. The program has 340 elders that get food, medicine, clothing and other items. The accompanying show, its 13th year, sold $284,000 in handmade rugs this past year. Get the Story:
