A federal judge in Rhode Island directed the Narragansett Tribe to waive its sovereign immunity as part of a dispute over a sewer construction project, The Providence Journal reports.

The tribe is seeking to protect potential burial sites and artifacts at the site. U.S. District Judge Ronald R. Lagueux denied the tribe's request for a temporary restraining order but said the city of Warwick needs to work closely with the tribe.
