The state of Nebraska is returning about 20 set of remains to the Winnebago Tribe under a new state repatriation law.

The law requires the State Historical Society to return unclaimed and unidentified remains to one of the state's four tribes for reburial. The Nebraska Commission on Indian Affairs coordinates the repatriation process.
