Native leaders part of governor's team

New Mexico Governor-elect Bill Richardson is welcoming Native Americans to his transition team and task force.

Richardson appointed two Pueblo leaders to his transition team. They are Sandia Pueblo Gov. Stuwart Paisano and Zuni Pueblo Gov. Malcolm Bowekaty.

According to the Associated Press, Sandia and Zuni contributed a total of $67,000 to Richardson's election campaign.

Richardson also appointed Isleta Pueblo Gov. Alvino Lucero to his task force. The panel will review and evaluate 27 state departments and agencies.
