A federal judge on Wednesday declined to issue a preliminary injunction against the Crow Tribe of Montana for the recent ouster of two tribal court judges.

U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull instead set a January 9, 2003, hearing to address the claims of Chief Judge James Ruegamer and Associate Judge Robert LaFountain. Both were fired by new Crow Chairman Carl Venne, who was sworn in Ruegamer last week.
