"Skinwalkers," the PBS movie based on author Tony Hillerman's Navajo cop series, premieres on PBS this weekend.

"Skinwalkers" stars Cherokee actor Wes Studi and Canadian Aboriginal Adam Beach as Navajos. Chris Eyre directed and Robert Redford produced.

The New York Times reviews the movie and calls it a battle between old and new Navajo ways. The paper also points out the slow, deliberate pace of the action, saying it "dares viewers to adapt to its Native American rhythm."

The movie is set to debut Sunday as part of the PBS "Mystery" series. Check local listings for time and channel.
