BIA ruling on Kickapoo leadership pending

The Bureau of Indian Affairs is expected decide whether it will recognize the new leadership of the Kickapoo Tribe of Texas, The Houston Chronicle reported.

The tribe ousted former chairman Raul Garza and his associates. They elected new leaders who say they have now uncovered numerous instances of corruption.

The BIA decision will determine whether the tribe's casino can reopen.
