Phillip Jackson was "a no-good Indian" who was convicted and imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit.

The Haines, Alaska, resident spent 4 1/2 years in jail for burning down a school. Another man has since confessed to the 1973 crime.

November 24 was declared Philip Jackson day. A ceremony at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall in Haines was held to apologize to Jackson.
