After more than 30 years on the job, Leonard C. Burch has ended his reign as chairman of the Southern Ute Tribe of Colorado.

Burch was the youngest person to be elected chairman and led the tribe to financial growth and success. The tribe has an estimated $1.4 billion in assets, gained mostly through oil and gas drilling.

A run-off election to select Burch's replacement will be held December 16.
