Mohegan Tribe feels right at home

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2002 Unlike other towns in the state, Mark Brown, the chairman of the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut, says the local community has always embraced his people. Brown spoke at the local chamber of commerce yesterday and said there is a perception in the state that Indians aren't real. But he said the Mohegans never had to prove itself to the citizens of Montville. The tribe enjoys a good relationship with the local government and donates $500,000 a year to the town. Get the Story:
