Native education summit opens in Alaska

The Alaska Native Education Summit kicked off in Anchorage, Alaska, on Monday.

The theme of the conference is "Native Culture Building Educational Success." It brings together rural Alaskans to discuss ways to improve the education of Native students.

Speakers pointed out the failures of the education system, from the Bureau of Indian Affairs to the state.
