A new National Indian Gaming Commission will be sworn in this week, The Syracuse Post-Standard reports.

Phil Hogen is the new chairman. He was confirmed by the Senate last month.

Chuck Choney and Nelson Westrin are the new commissioners that are being sworn in. They were appointed by Secretary of Interior Gale Norton and did not require Senate approval.

The NIGC has been without a chairman and commissioners since the summer, when former chairman Montie Deer left to join the Tulsa University school of law.
