THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2002 The Sioux Falls Argus Leader in an editorial today urges the state of South Dakota to purchase an ancient Indian site that dates back 6,000 years. "We have the opportunity to preserve an important historic and archaeological site at a bargain price," the paper says. Known as Blood Run, the site's owners are willing to sell 250 acres to the state. The deal would save the land from a housing development and preserve it as part of the state park system.
