The Navajo Nation council almost denied $150,000 in fund for the inauguration of President-elect Joe Shirley Jr., The Farmington Daily-Times reports.

The request passed by a vote of 59-2, 59 being the exact number needed for approval. But Shiprock Council Delegate Wallace Charley, one of the two who voted against, said 16 delegates initially voted not to support Shirley's request.

Eventually, he said 14 delegates changed their mind and the money was approved.
