FRIDAY, JANUARY 10, 2003 Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-Colorado) has been named Deputy Majority Whip by the Republican leadership. Campbell will work with Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (Tenn.) and Senate Majority Whip Mitch McConnell (Ky.) to gauge the support of legislation before it is voted upon. Campbell is the only American Indian in the Senate. He will chair the Indian Affairs Committee. Get the Story:
