Proposal seeks to redistribute casino funds

Cherokee Nation lawmakers are advancing a proposal to use a greater share of their casino funds for tribal projects.

A legislative committee passed a bill requiring 25 percent of revenues to go to health care, housing and other projects. Anticipated casino revenues from this year are $38 million, the Associated Press reports.
