Residents of an Inupiat village in Alaska worked for three hours last week to put out a fire.

High school students took an active part in the battle, which was waged with buckets, snowmachines, snowballs and any other tool and resource imaginable. Kivalina doesn't have a fire truck but young and old helped out before the blaze spread to other parts of the village.
