Most Oklahomans support a lottery over increased taxes and budget cuts, according to a poll commissioned by The Tulsa World.

Of 750 respondents, 73 percent said they supported a lottery. The number jumped to 78 percent when funds are earmarked for education.

If a lottery is legalized in the state, it could open the way for Class III gaming by tribes. Currently, only Class II, or bingo-like, is allowed.
