Tribal official at Leech Lake faces removal

TUESDAY, JANUARY 14, 2003 Arthur "Archie" LaRose, the secretary-treasurer for the Leech Lake Ojibwe Tribe of Minnesota, is being targeted for removal for numerous alleged infractions. A petition was circulated that accused LaRose of not doing his job, misusing a tribal credit card and threatening tribal employees. A tribal court hearing on Thursday will be held to consider whether the request can go forward. Get the Story:
