Tribal member sworn into state legislature

TUESDAY, JANUARY 14, 2003

John McCoy, a member of the Tulalip Tribes, was sworn in to the Washington State Legislature on Monday.

A host of tribal dignitaries and supporters held a special honoring ceremony for McCoy, who was the head of governmental relations for the Tulalip Tribes. He is the fourth Native American in state history to serve in the Legislature.
