Lakota actor ready to take on Hollywood

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2003 Fresh off two back-to-back parts, and that bit in "Thunderheart" starring Val "I'm an Indian too" Kilmer, Lakota actor Moses Brings Plenty is ready for bigger and brighter things in Hollywood. Brings Plenty, of South Dakota, plays a medicine man in "Hidalgo" in scenes depicting the 1890 massacre at Wounded Knee. He plays a pirate in "Pirates of the Caribbean." Both are being released this year. Brings Plenty said he doesn't have illusions of big fame but says he wants to be a positive role model for young people and promote Lakota culture. Get the Story:
