At least seven Bureau of Indian Affairs schools will receive replacement construction funds in fiscal year 2004.

Wingate High, Isleta Elementary School, Pueblo Pintado Community School, Navajo Preparatory School and Mescalero Apache School in New Mexico; Turtle Mountain High School in North Dakota and Enemy Swim Day School in South Dakota are on the list. They will receive a total of $131.4 million.

In the past, the BIA used to say how much each school would receive. In this year's budget, the Bush administration said it will "no longer provide cost estimates for individual schools until the planning documents and design for the school are developed to the point where adequate information is available to make a reasonably accurate cost estimate."
