The first phase of a school construction project at a Navajo Nation is finally set to open after problems and delays but future hurdles remain.

New dorms at the Navajo Preparatory School will open in April. They cost $7.5 million, money allocated solely by the tribe. Cost overruns required the tribal council to keep allocating more funds.

The second phase involves Bureau of Indian Affairs money, The Farmington Daily-Times said. But there are questions about fire codes, asbestos and new construction components.
