Herrington is Red Earth's Ambassador of the Year

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2003 John Herrington, a member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma and the first tribal member to go into space, is Ambassador of the Year for Red Earth, the pow-wow and arts festival. The award promotes pride in Indian heritage and goes to individuals who have promoted positive images of American Indians. Herrington will accept the honor on May 23. Red Earth takes place May 23-24 at the Oklahoma City Fair Park in Oklahoma City. Get the Story:
