Editorial: Navajo court should have jurisdiction

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2003 The Navajo Nation courts should have jurisdiction over a drug company that sold diabetes drugs to tribal members, The Oregon Daily Emerald says in an editorial today. "We do not buy the argument of Pfizer that it is somehow immune to the Navajo Court's jurisdiction," the paper says. "Pfizer said it had "no relationship" with the Navajo, but this is absurd." The Navajo Nation Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case at the University of Oregon last week. A lower court held that the tribal court lacked jurisdiction. Get the Story:
