The Nebraska Legislature's General Affairs Committee held a hearing on Monday to address four proposals to authorize gaming in the state.

One bill would allow casino gaming on the state's reservations and in a two-mile border zone of states that allow similar gaming. Representatives of the Omaha, Santee Sioux and Winnebago tribes testified in support of expanding gaming.

According to news accounts, Las Vegas casino executives stole the show with a glitzy presentation. The executives said they wanted to open a casino in Omaha.
