TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2003

The Prairie Island Indian Community of Minnesota isn't the only one questioning whether operator of a nuclear plant is breaking promises not to seek additional storage.

Lawmakers were also told that the Prairie Island plant, owned by Xcel Energy, wouldn't ask for permission to store more waste. Xcel is asking the Legislature to approve a bill to expand its facilities.

The plant is located next to the Prairie Island Reservation.
