Negotiations on spending bill stalled

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2003 A dispute over drought relief and environmental exemptions for forest land in Alaska has stalled work on the 2003 omnibus appropriations bill. The $395 billion package is needed to fund the federal agencies for the current fiscal year. A joint House-Senate conference committee is hammering out the bill. Get the Story:
