Former assistant secretary Neal McCaleb has filed court papers asking for an apology for a report that accused him of violating federal law.

McCaleb admitted that he erased e-mail correspondence regarding the Indian trust but said it was a mistake. His attorneys, who are being paid with taxpayer funds, say special master Alan Balaran jumped to conclusions about the incident.
