THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2003

A settlement to Sandia Pueblo's land claim to 10,000 acres in New Mexico is included in the omnibus appropriations act nearing final Congressional approval.

The tribe would retain use and jurisdiction over the land but it would be still owned by the federal government. The settlement was reached between the tribe, the U.S., private landowners and other affected parties.
