The Bureau of Land Management has approved drilling in the Jack Morrow Hills of Wyoming.

The 622,000-acre area is known for its unusual terrain, endangered species and sacred sites. Tribes and environmentalists have raised concerns about drilling.

The BLM says development can occur in stages to minimize the impact on the environment. Up to 205 wells, for oil and gas, are to be drilling in the area.
