FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2003

The Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Office of Special Trustee are still disconnected from the Internet, the Department of Interior reported recently.

The department shut down all of its computer systems more than a year ago in order to correct security vulnerabilities. Most have been restarted with the exception of those that process payments to Indian beneficiaries.
