Republican lawmakers in Wisconsin criticized Democratic Governor Jim Doyle for making a new gaming deal with the Oneida Nation.

The deal increases the amount of money the tribe pays to the state in exchange for fewer limits on gaming. Fearing similar arrangements with other tribes, the lawmakers called a special session to discuss a bill that would prevent Doyle from making casino compacts without their approval.
