Local governments in Calif. want say on compacts

With negotiations over new gaming compacts set to begin next month, a group of city and county governments want their issues to be addressed.

The California State Association of Counties asked Gov. Gray Davis (D) for a seat at the table. They want the environmental, public safety, traffic and other impacts of casinos considered.
