Tribes in Connecticut are "overheated" in their fight to protect Indian rights, The Norwich Bulletin says in an editorial today.

The paper says that the repeal of state law that paved the way for tribal casinos and a proposal to strip state tribes of recognition are simply part of a new awakening. It's not part of an anti-Indian agenda, the paper says.

"In reality, prospects are looking pretty bright around here, both for the tribes and the surrounding communities, as a friendlier dialogue develops along with more of a sense of mutual dependency," the paper says.
