MMS director visiting with Western tribes

TUESDAY, MARCH 11, 2003 Minerals Management Service Director R.M. "Johnnie" Burton is meeting with tribal leaders in the West to hear their concerns. Burton met with the Southern Ute Tribe of Colorado yesterday. She plans to meet with the Navajo Nation and the Jicarilla Apache Nation of New Mexico. MMS, an agency of the Department of Interior, is responsible for collecting oil and gas royalties on Indian-owned land. Get the Story:
