Tribal leaders protest state termination bill

Tribal leaders in Connecticut testified against a bill that would revoke their state recognition.

The state has recognized several tribes since Colonial times. Fears that this status has helped the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation gain federal recognition, Republicans want to terminate the remaining state tribes.
