THURSDAY, MARCH 20, 2003 Navajo Nation Vice President Frank Dayish Jr. issued a statement calling on tribal members to support Navajos who may be involved in the war on Iraq. "Whether you support this war or not, now is the time for us to unify as a Nation and strengthen our beliefs in our Creator," Dayish said. "We humbly ask that you pray for those soldiers on the front lines, overseas, and with homeland security, as they prepare to defend our country against further terrorists attacks." Dayish said that the tribe will monitor any on-reservation war demonstrations to make sure they do not become "violent." Get the Story:
