WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, 2003

Members of the Hopi Tribe of Arizona came together on Tuesday to pray for the safe return of tribal members in the armed forces, KPNX Channel 12 News reported.

The vigil was planned in advance. But it took on a somber and emotional tone now that a tribal member, Army private first class Lori Piestewa, is reported as missing in action in Iraq.

According to 12 News, there are a total of 44 Hopi tribal members serving in the military.

Piestewa was stationed at Fort Bliss in Texas.
